Perhaps the greatest softball game I have ever witnessed. Our Hawks 14, down 3 -0 to a very dangerous Lemont Rocker team, pounded out 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning with 1 out. Nora McGuire aka " Chuck Norris" took a 2 & 0 pitch yard. Alyssa " Pooley" Poole follows with a mammoth double. Laura Godlewski hammers a pitch up the middle scoring Poole. Laura takes 2nd on the throw home. Rockers change pitchers. Morgan " Moses" Moseley leads her team to victory with a walk off 2 run homerun. Too many outstanding plays to mention but I will try. " Ninja" like defense from Molly Ely and Caitlyn "Corndog" Warren stifled the Rockers. Gabby D'oronzo stone cold bunting. Katie Golich head's up @ 2nd base. Critical catches by Danielle Graca and Mel Lambert. Bekka Houda brought us to this spot with awesome pitching. Tori Larson was once again errorless in field. What an incredible team effort. A Great memorable victory against a very game opponent that had schooled us just 2 weeks ago. Chick Magnet ;D

This was the single greatest come from behind victory ever....One that the Proud Hawks Parents will NEVER forget.
P.S. Kudos go out to Chick Magnet for taking the Ninjas all the way!

Congrats to the Hawks on your come from behind victory over us in the championship game yesterday. It is ashame anyone had to lose a game like that ( Hawks or Rockers) but you earned it & hopefully we will see a lot of each other down the road. Once again, congratulations on a well earned victory.

I wish I could have seen the show. I heard that this game is one of the best ever. A great team effort to come from behind on a good team that had beaten us just a few weeks ago. In the October heat (who knew?) you all played hard and good things happend. I told you after Wauconda that I knew this team was special. You all cheer for eachother and support eachother even when the chips are down. I know that this is just the first of many Sunday Finals you will play in. Just enjoy this today and start working tomorrow.
Go Hawks

Unbelievable finish! I had already chalked that one up for a loss. I'll never doubt this team again.
Rockers KM were cruising along until Nora hit her 3rd bomb of the day. Then base knocks by Alyssa, Laura and Morgan with the game winning blast. Great game by 2 great teams!
Chick Magnet, great job this weekend! Excellent use of the entire roster and all of the scouting reports.
Work hard ladies and this will be the beginning of many good things to come.

As I was getting play by play from Mrs. D'oronzo via phone I kept thinking of how I wish I was there. This team really showed how tuff and how determined they really are. Winning this tournament was just the beginning but seeing all you girls at Culvers after the game and seeing how you are all gelling together as a team as well as friends was like a breath of fresh air. Congratulations girls and bring on the next one.
PS.
To all the coaches, great job!
