The Homer Hawks took a group of 16's up to Grand Valley for a great day of softball and campus visits. Thank you to Dana Callihan and Doug Woods for the hospitality and allowing us to christen your beautiful new indoor fieldhouse! What a venue The Hawks did not dissappooint going 3-0 with solid pitching and efense and timely hitting! The HAwks opened with an 11-0 victory over the 16 U Grand Rapids Blaze - then followed with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the 18U Pride Elite from Detroit and topped off the long day with a 4-0 defeat of the 18U Grand Rapids Blaze. ALl teams were amazed at the quality of the facility and the hospitality of the entire Laker program!
Thank you Grand Valley players and coaches for an outstanding opportunity and event!

Dave:
I know Lori enjoyed the day and especially talking to you. It is quite a beautiful facility they have there and their new softball field is just as beautiful. With that campus and their size (now approx. 24,000 students) and the great coach that they have in "Doc", Doug Woods, it's been a true pleasure to be a family in their program for the past three years. Good luck to your teams and hopefully some of your players will enjoy the same competitiveness and academic accomplishments that our family has been able to partake in at GVSU.

Thanks Gail! It was great to see Hawks Lori and Breanne there and to talk about their families and how much they love GVS - it is an awesome campus and I would think we would keep the Hawk tradition going there in the future. It was good to hear you and your family are doing so well!
