It is nice to hear from those that are so sure. I would be feeling better if I was getting personal promises and phone calls too. We all have to wait it out and find out who is even left in the program. Certainly those on the elite 14 u/16u combo coach teams will be taken care of and very happy. Covering our bases is a great tip.

There are still 3 days left to tryout. Lots of girls have yet to be seen. Until it is all over, I too will have to sit and wait to see how things unfold!!!

wow - now easy to see what some are talking about after tonight. seems very predetermined based on the lack of any coaches actually taking notes on new tryouts. seemed more like a practice to see what numbers can be attracted to impress those who have already been asked to be on the teams? why no batting off live pitching or machine?

That is a good observation. Also you will notice, parents are never included in meetings with the kids. Reason is, coaches tell kids how its going to be, not looking for input from parents.

Wait a minute. Are the girls playing the sport or are the parents? This is a sport for the girls to enhance their skills on and off the field. My daughter was given the chance to play here last year and I would say 99% of the time all discussions were with her and her coaches. She's the one out there playing, not me. I was proud of her playing last year, but I was more proud of her standing up for herself and talking with the coaches. Her confidence and self-esteem grew and I believe that led to her playing harder and better. She asked me to get involved when she had an issue, but we talked about it and she made the final decision to talk with the coaches. I'm not sure what goes on in the coaches minds, but I believe they are looking for a winning season for the girls, the coaches, and the organization. I hope I don't upset anyone here, but stop complaining. Let your daughters skills speak for themselves. My daughter busted her %$#@ the last two days. There are no guarantees she will be back and she hasn't been promised a spot. She has to wait just like everyone else.

Rather than being a show to impress people, I think the large number of talented players that have been at the Hawk tryouts all week goes to show you what happens when people are impressed by the quality of the Hawk program. When you develop such quality others take notice and want to try to be a part of it. Kudos to the Hawks for putting in an infinite number of volunteer hours to not only conduct tryouts, but to run such a high quality program. IF we all volunteered to do a fraction of what these people do there would be a whole lot more opportunities for these young ladies. But you can only accomodate as many players as there are quality volunteers to take teams. Not enough can be said to thank all of the volunteers in both this and other organizations for giving so much of their time. Thank you Dave - keep up the great work.

It has been amazing watching how Dave and the Hawk organization has handled all the ups and downs of try-out week, the uncertainty and the impatience of parents. I have to say I am extremely impressed and am so glad that we are a part of the Hawks organization. Thanks to all who help out and offer their valuable time to help our girls!
