Results ASA/USA National Qualifier in Naperville Good job by both Black and Purple - Purple split their pool games with a nail biting 3-0 loss to the Sparks and then a solid win vs WIndmills Red. Elim bracket saw a tough opening 4-3 loss when we surrendered 4 runs in the first and then shut down our opponent the rest of the way but could not get closer than 4-3. The last game was a tough 4-2 loss.
The Black battled all weekend, defeating both Chitown Silver and New Lenox Lightning in pool play. Elimination play saw the Hawks defeat Downers Outlaws in first game, then fall in a great 1-0 battle to Chitown Platinum. From the losers bracket the Hawks defeated Palos Rippit and Orland Sparks on an 7th inning - 2 out - walk off homer to advance to the final 6 teams . In a well played game, the Hawks were defeated 3-1 by the Diamonds to finish 5th. A good weekend of quality softball was played by both teams!
This week were are both playing in Northlake.

What I really liked over the weekend was the great sportsmanship throughout the event. No problems like you hear about at a lot of levels - the teams that we saw all exhibited class and sportsmanship along with terrific skills! It will be a great season at 16 under in our Chicago Metro area!
