Indy Sport Zone Champions

Hawks 16 Black finished their (short) winter season this past weekend, travelling to the Sports Zone in Indianapolis to compete in a 15 team field. Six victories later the Hawks were crowned champions, defeating a very talented Knoxville Thunder team by a score of 4-2.

The team posted pool play wins against the Indiana Diamond Terror and Knoxville Thunder by identical 2-0 scores. Aubrey DeGroot ended the game in dramatic fashion against the Thunder with two-run walk-off home run to give the Hawks a #1 seed. The Hawks reeled off three more victories (Firecats, Vipers and CG Wizards) in bracket play to get to the Championship game.

Great Job This Weekend Ladies !!

You can see the hard work is paying off. This was one of the most competitive tournaments we have played and your hitting was very impressive. Congrats to Aubrey, Miranda and Bri for a combined total of 6 walk off home runs this weekend !!! The defense played with minimal errors, turning 4 double plays !!!

I want to thank the Knoxville Thunder (TN) who gave us a great game. The best team we have see.
