16U Black back on track

16 Black ran off 5 straight shutouts in the Naperville Diamonds 18U "Queen of the Diamond" ASA tournament and were set to face off against the 18U Windmills in the championship game when the tournament was canceled due to poor field conditions.

The Hawks went 2-0 in pool play with 5-0 and 1-0 victories over the Joliet Dirt Devils and the Oak Park Windmills (Solberg). Strong pitching and defense kept their 3 bracket play opponents (GE Phillies, Dirt Devils and Illinois Chill) off the boards as they extended their unscored on streak to 35 innings.

Next week the girls play in a 16 team field in the Northern Illinois Lightning 18U Summer Bash.
