HELPING OUT A TEAM IN NEED

I received this email today asking for assistance and I would like to ask not only our HAWK family but any other readers as well to give us a hand in helping them out.

She is coaching a group of about 26 girls because they cut the funding for a JV team. Only about have of the girls have gloves, less ten that have spikes. They use Sara's 3 or 4 bats from college, and she has collected a few extra gloves. Not everybody has a uniform because the school bought new uniforms last season for the team but only bought ten. She wants to raise money to buy t-shirts for the rest of the girls and some gear. I believe she is also using donated catchers gear from DPU.

That is the back ground.

Can you please send me a rough draft of a letter that she can send to people please if possible today. So that I can work on that. We just want to send it to friends and family asking for money to help support the team and the girls on the team to keep them off the streets.

Thank you all so much - unbelievable! We donated $615 in cash - 2 sets of uniform tops - some great equipment from a couple of you - and made some girls less fortunate than us so very happy! Thank you to everyone for your generosity and promptness!

What a response to our Help Gordon Tech's Softball Program drive ... we raised $1165 from both Hawk families and Al Meyer of the Lemont Sizzlers - purchased 2 sets of tops for the team - had equipment donated from our very own Jess Perkins - received many supplies from Pat Mayer and his Oak Lawn HS program - received several boxes of wiffles from the BULLS SOX ACADEMY!
