HEALTH
By applying for this camp I agree to complete and return to the Sports Medicine Department the confidential Consent for Medical Administration and Medical Treatment Form and Health History Questionnaire. I understand these forms need to be completed and on file prior to my child’s participation in the Camp activities. (These forms are available on the UWCamps.com web page and will be mailed to all parents / guardians when applications are received.)
LIABILITY WAIVER
In consideration of my child’s participation in the Camp, I hereby release the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents, its officers, employees and agents from any and all liability arising out of any injury or illness my child incurs while participating in camp activities. I understand the rigorous athletic activity in which he/she will be involved. I understand that participation is voluntary and I choose freely to have my child participate.

Campers are encouraged to have their own health insurance as limited accident insurance is provided by the University. I understand that the Camp provides limited accident insurance, which is primary on the first $1,000 and excess up to $5,000.

Camp Staff
Chandelle Schulte is in her third year at the helm of the University of Wisconsin Softball program. She is just the second coach in program history. Before her arrival in Wisconsin, Schulte was the head coach at College of Charleston for four years, where she was twice named SoCon Coach of the Year. There, she led the Cougars to two regular-season Southern Conference championships, one conference tournament championship & an NCAA regional appearance. From 1999 to 2001, Schulte was the head coach at Charleston Southern University, garnering Big South Coach of the Year honors in 2001. As an assistant coach at Florida State (1996-99), she helped lead the team to two ACC championships & an NCAA regional appearance. Schulte also helped three Seminole players earn All-America honors. Schulte began her coaching career at Concordia University (1993-1996) where she was WHAC Coach of the Year & led her squad to a runner-up finish in the NCCAA World Series.
Julie Wright is in her second year with the Badgers & is in charge of recruiting & of the development of the infielders & outfielders. Wright came to Wisconsin after spending two years as the head coach at The University of Akron where she coached 8 All-MAC selections & led them to their first MAC tournament appearance in 4 years. Prior to Akron, she was the top assistant at the University of Kansas, where she was in charge of recruiting, hitting, & infield. Wright began her coaching career at Ohio University.
Kim Martin is in her first season as Wisconsin’s pitching coach. Prior to joining the Badgers, Martin was the pitching coach for the Akron Racers of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) League, guiding them to a second place finish in the NPF standings. From 2005-2007, she was an assistant for Marshall University. During her tenure, the Thundering Herd won a MAC regular season championship & finished second in their first season as a member of Conference USA.
Rachel Kraus is also new to the Badger coaching staff. The Volunteer Assistant Coach serves as coordinator of camps & clinics. Kraus played her college ball at The University of Akron (2002-2006).
Wendy Stanley is in her third year with the Badgers – her first as the Director of Softball Operations. Stanley focuses on team-building, group cohesion, goal setting, leadership, & mental training.

All sessions for ages 7-18 unless otherwise noted.
Session 1: LEFTY SLAPPERS CLINIC $85
Friday, January 4th 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Surprise and challenge the defense every time you step in the box. Improve your bunting, slapping, and hitting from the left side on your way to becoming a “Triple Threat”.
Session 2: HITTING CLINIC $95
Saturday, January 5th 9:00am – Noon
Take your hitting to the next level. Detailed instruction and breakdown of the successful Fastpitch swing. Campers will have the opportunity to hone their hitting skills through tee-work, soft toss, and machine drills. Bunting instruction will also be provided.
Session 3: DEFENSIVE CLINIC $85
Saturday, January 5th 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Learn the key fundamentals and techniques needed to succeed at your position. Drills and instruction will focus on perfecting mechanics and understanding position-specific responsibilities in the field. Throwing mechanics will be emphasized.
Session 4: PITCHING CLINIC I $80
Sunday, January 6th 9:00am – 11:00am
For ages 13 and under. Learn and perfect the fundamentals and mechanics. Use competitive drills and games to improve your pitching. Pitchers must provide their own catchers.
Session 5: PITCHING CLINIC II $90
Sunday, January 6th Noon – 2:00pm
For ages 14 and up. Perfect your mechanics and receive in-depth instruction on control, velocity, and throwing specific pitches. Pitchers must provide their own catchers.
Coaches, trainers, and counselors will be on hand at all times to ensure a safe and secure environment for all campers.
Check In:
Check in for each session is 30 minutes prior to start at the McClain Facility, 1440 Monroe Street.
Facilities:
All sessions will be held at the Dave McClain Athletic Facility and the adjacent Camp Randall Memorial Sports Center (the Shell). The 166,264 square-foot McClain facility contains a 90-yard artificial turf field, locker rooms, weight room, and state-of-the-art training facilities. The Shell contains a 200 meter track, jump pit, pole vault area, basketball courts, and batting cages. The McClain is a locked facility and entrance by Lot 17 will be permitted only during check-in times.
Equipment:
Campers must provide their own glove. Catchers must also bring their own equipment. It is also recommended to bring your own helmet and bat if you have them. Please put your name on all your belongings.
Important Information:
q There will be an Athletic Trainer on site at all times.
q Water will be provided each day
q Bring your own lunch if you are staying for the day. Lunch is Noon – 1:00pm each day.
q Cancellations will result in a 50% administrative fee. “No shows” will lose all funds paid. Any misconduct can be grounds for removal from camp without a refund.
