Naperville Central 3-3, Neuqua Valley 1-2:ŒNatalie Wunderlich pitched a 2-hitter with 12 strikeouts to win the opener, while Game 2 winner Sara Silke fired a 3-hitter and struck out 10 for Naperville Central (4-1). Erin Graham went 3-for-3 in the second game and Lizzy Ploen scored 3 runs on the day for the Redhawks.
Martinsville (Ind.) 2, Lake Park 1:ŒAfter winning two games in the Wendy’s Classic Friday in Ashland, Ohio, the Lancers (9-3) lost Saturday after not being able to overcome a 2-0 first-inning deficit. Lynsey Ciezki went 2-for-4 with a double in the loss.
WW South 9, Glenbard West 2:ŒWinning pitcher Laura Tarnawa went 3-for-4 with a double and RBI, while Melissa Rasper was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for the Tigers (9-5).
Lisle 10-5, Timothy Christian 0-0:ŒIn Game 1, Jaimie Bauerlein recorded her first shutout on a 2-hitter for the Lions (8-2). Colleen Drennan went 4-for-4 and scored 3 runs, while Erin Drennan knocked in 5 runs on a pair of doubles. In Game 2, Maggie Brennan won her first start with a 1-hitter. Stephanie Sarb was 2-for-2 with a double and 3 RBI.
Larkin 2, Waubonsie Valley 1:ŒJamie Coit knocked in a run in the second inning to give the Warriors (5-4, 1-1) a 1-0 lead, but Larkin tied the Upstate Eight Conference game with a run in the sixth and won it with a run in the 12th.
Chicago Christian 10-2, Wheaton Academy 0-3:ŒLindsey Setar scattered 6 hits and struck out eight in the second game to enable the Warriors (3-4, 1-1) to salvage a split of the Private School League doubleheader. She also went 3-for-3 and scored a run.
Mother McAuley 4-1, Downers North 2-5:ŒJulianne Burton went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI in the Game 1 loss for Downers North (5-7). Lauren McNulty socked her 5th home run of the season for the Trojans in their Game 2 victory. Winning pitcher Nicole Pacyga threw a 3-hitter and struck out 10.
Downers South 7, Plainfield South 2:ŒThe Mustangs (4-2) were powered by a 3-run blast by Zoe Sinner, her third homer of the year. Brooke Andresen went 3-for-4 with 2 runs, while Ashley Trezzo was 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI.
Prospect 4-8, York 3-0:ŒIn Game 1, Gina Knutson hit a 2-homer for York (2-9) before Prospect (5-2) tied it with 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and won with 2 more in the eighth.
