More charity from the Hawk family - we have had the Toys for Hope Children's Hospital in the fall success - the HOMER HAWK COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM from our fall exposure camp - our Support Gordon Tech's Softball Program and now one of our terrific families - the Hansen's - are donating their time to Walk in the "BREAST CANCER 3-DAY" event.
To everyone in our viewing audience who feels so inclined - please support Mary and her son Jeremy as they walk this August for such an important and critical cause!
Here is Mary's appeal ...
Dear Friends,
Yes, I’m doing it again – I signed up for the 2007 Breast Cancer 3-Day!
This year will be my 5th walk in the fight against breast cancer, and I am thrilled to be doing this walk with my son Jeremy! Jeremy is 17 years old and has wanted to do this walk ever since my 1st walk in 2001. As I walked across the finish line, he greeted me with open arms and said, “Mom I can’t wait till I’m old enough to do this walk with you!” Well 6 years & 4 walks later, here we are! For those of you not familiar with what the 3-Day is, it is a 60-mile walk, over three days, to raise money for breast cancer. The net proceeds will support the combined efforts of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) Breast Cancer Fund in their mission to fund access to care and find a cure for breast cancer.
My passion to join this fight began after my cousin lost her battle to Breast Cancer in 1998 at the age of 36. You can read about her by going to dd-discovers.blogspot.com/2007/02/erin-tierney-kramp.html Since then so many women I know have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, too many of them have lost the fight! Just last month one of my co-workers lost his wife to this terrible disease. My prayer list continues to grow, along with my determination, to do whatever I can to put an end to this disease.
This walk is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research, and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it. While we are walking that weekend it will be for all of us, our friends, wives, grandmothers, mothers, aunts, cousins, sisters and our beautiful daughters!
For me the walking is the easy part, asking for dollars is not. This year in order to be able to participate in the walk our pledge requirement is $2,200 each. (Together $4,400) In the past you have all given so generously my hope is that we will not have a problem reaching our goal.
Donations can be made directly into our account at the following websites:

Thank you in advance for you support,
Mary & Jeremy Hansen
