Jess was having a great fall and winter for us last year after joining the Hawks from the Bash - when a torn rotator put her on the shelf after her high school year ... good to see the former Hawk starting to round back into shape at St Joes in Rensellear!

BENSENVILLE, Ill. - The Saint Joseph's College softball team leapt back into the win column Tuesday, sweeping a non-conference double header against Robert Morris (Ill.) College at the Redmond Athletic Complex.
The Pumas (13-9) came from behind to top RMC, 11-10, in the first game of the evening, then won the second contest in a 9-0 whitewash.
SJC fell behind, 4-0, in the first inning of the opener, then got one run back in the top of the second when Jessie Privett (Jr., Fortville, IN/Mt. Vernon) scored on a passed ball. The Eagles, however, scored two more runs in the bottom of the inning to pull ahead, 6-1.
The Pumas narrowed the gap to 6-4 with a three-run third inning, which was kicked off by an RBI double from Cheryl Zakowski (So., Worth, IL/Mt. Assisi). Stephanie Kickels (So., Lemont, IL) followed with a run-scoring single, and Jessica Lynch (Fr., Berwyn, IL/Morton West) doubled to bring a third runner home.
After another RMC run scored in the bottom of the third, the Pumas managed to tie the game at 7-7 with another three-run surge. Ashley Emmett (Jr., Schererville, IN/Andrean) scored on a passed ball and Lynch smacked a two-run double. The Eagles retook the lead, 8-7, before SJC took the lead for the first time with a three-run fifth. Emmett delivered an RBI single before an two-run double by Kickels left the score at 10-8 in SJC's favor.
Robert Morris tied the score once again with two runs in the home half of the fifth. SJC posted the game-winning run in the seventh, when Emmett scored on a sacrifice fly by Privett.
Emmett was 3 for 5 in the game and set an SJC record with four runs scored, while Zakowski and Kickels were each 2 for 3. Privett was the Pumas' starting pitcher, allowing two earned runs and seven hits in four innings. She struck out five and walked two. Sara Somogyi (So., Chicago, IL/Resurrection) got the win (9-5), surrendering two runs on three hits in three innings while striking out five and walking two.
The nightcap provided far less drama, as Somogyi allowed just two hits in pitching her fifth shutout of the season. She struck out nine and walked three.
SJC got on the board with two runs in the third, as Michelle Hammons (Sr., Greenwood, IN) slugged an RBI triple and Stephanie Madsen (So., Brookfield, IL/Riverside Brookfield) brought home a run with a single.
The Pumas slammed the door in the fifth, crossing the plate seven times. Hammons scored on an error to start the rally, and was followed by Privett's three-run double. Kickels added an RBI single before Nicole Fetla (Sr., Chesterton, IN) got into the act with a run-scoring triple. Holly Roadruck (Fr., Oak Park, IL/Oak Park-River Forest) drove in the final run of the night with an RBI groundout.
Madsen, Emmett, Kickels, Fetla, and Hammons were each 2 for 3 from the plate in the game, while Madsen also stole three bases.
SJC travels to face Calumet College of Saint Joseph on Saturday at noon. The games will be played at Standard Diamonds in Whiting, Ind.
