RMC Softball team moves into Region VII championship game with 2-1 win over #1-seeded William Penn (IA)! After earning their first berth in the NAIA Region VII Tournament since the 2000 season, the Robert Morris Softball team has reached the championship game of the double-elimination tourney in Bourbonnais, IL, getting its third upset win of the tournament as they defeated the #1-seeded Lady Statesmen of William Penn (IA). That victory followed a pair of day one upset wins over their CCAC arch-rivals on Wednesday. In the first game of the day, they defeated the hosts, #3-seeded Olivet Nazarene University, 3-1. They then went ten innings with the #2-seed, St. Xavier University, before pulling out a 2-1 victory.
RMC is the last remaining undefeated team in the tournament, and the Lady Eagles will face William Penn on Friday, May 11, 2007, at 11:00 PM in the championship game. WPU defeated ONU in the final elimination game 9-1 on Thursday evening.
