. Yeah...about that video Worstmom...it may have been in violation of an ordinance or two...let's have a look see shall we?Michigan Ave. Signage GuidelinesThe visual appearance of a street, or a rendering thereof in a college student's apartment, can be greatly influenced by the quality and the quantity of signs and also influenced by two Homer Hawk softball coaches producing a most entertaining video there... "Working Out with Kim & Nora...Step This Way To Success! No, No, No...Not That Way...This Way! Remember: Do as We say...Not as We Do! Capisce?" Critics are raving about this video...it's sizzling H-O-T!The Chicago Loop Alliance, in cooperation with the City of Chicago's Department of Planning and Development and along with the Olivet-Nazarene University Student Housing Office has worked to put guidelines and ordinances in place to preserve the aesthetic appeal of the Loop for the benefit of all who visit, shop, live, work, and have the courage and gumption to watch the duo's video there...or anywhere for that matter. The purposes of the council's guidelines and the city ordinance are to promote an attractive and gracious pedestrian and spectator environment along the Michigan Avenue Commercial Corridor and in every Purple Ninja's home when they and their family and friends gather to watch this wondrous, high wattage work out video. The guidelines also serve to reinforce the distinctive historic and starkly black and white architectural character of Michigan Avenue, to promote animated (very, very animated!) retail/street activity. Really...where else can you sit back and enjoy a hearty laugh while watching and listening to a pair of uber talented Homer Hawk softball coaches displaying their agility required to stand and hop on one leg, somewhat successfully, all the while entertaining their audience with their wit and wisdom and still able to mostly keep track of where they are in their regimen? Where? No where! Case closed! The guidelines also are designed to enhance the pedestrian and spectator experience, as well as to encourage creative graphic design (creative beyond belief!) solutions and the use of high-quality materials and stunt doubles when necessary. And please keep in mind that no animals, purple or otherwise, were harmed during the production of this video. Any action that may be construed to cheapen or dampen The Michigan Avenue Experience, intentionally or unintentionally, will be considered a violation of these guidelines and ordinances. Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The only exception, of course, is for the Mayor and his administration (including well connected friends) and the Aldermen and Alderwomen and their staffs...oh!...and celebrities, sports heroes, and coaches, past and present, and their like. Gary Barnett is not to be included. And Sammy, if he acts up or comes uncorked, is not included as well. Ok, ok...in fairness Magglio is not included either. When he gets his hair cut maybe we'll reconsider. You know Worstmom, on second thought, I think the ordinance was written specifically to encourage the type of behavior shown in the video...thanks for the entertainment coaches!
And thanks once more to the McGuire's for being so generous and hosting the get together last night. It is always very much appreciated by all.
And to The Mechanic..."I now know I partooketh too much from your burning bottle...I should have used your wings to fly away ...on a wing and a prayer! Thank goodness for the soothing comfort of my white enameled BemisĀ© ring this morning!
